Meadow argus Butterfly Print

Watercolour and ink on paper, 2025

The Meadow Argus butterfly is native to Western Australia. They are most common to be seen during warmer months. I found this specific butterfly spreading its wings on the wall of my house as I came home one day. Struck by its beauty I took a photo and exhibited it as part of the collection in my solo exhibit Natures Window at Nala Bardip Mia in Margaret River in 2025.

I went down first with ink to capture the striking 'eyespots' then layered and added detail with watercolour pigment and pencil.
