Sasha Cameron
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born in Wellington Mills and now based in Margaret River, Sasha Cameron lives and breathes her love of the Southwest of WA. Having lived in Donnybrook and Bunbury to Balingup and Metricup, multiple chapters of her life are planted across the region. With farming roots through her father and stepfather, and a mother and grandmother who worked with textiles, she grew up surrounded by creativity and a connection to the land.
As a child, Sasha found joy drawing flowers in the garden. Noticed for her natural gift in drawing she was encouraged to pursue art in her schooling years. Motherhood put painting on pause as she raised her son on her own for several years. When he was old enough to get himself to school, she gathered what remained of her Year 12 art kit and began drawing again.
In 2024, she held her first exhibition, ‘Feminine’, as part of the Blackwood River Arts Trail. This was followed by her first solo exhibition at The Marri Tree in Witchcliffe in 2025, and ‘Nature’s Window’ at the HEART in Margaret River in 2026.
Today, she works as a full-time artist from her home studio in Margaret River creating original artworks and reproducing her work as prints, cards and stickers, stocking stores across the Southwest. She shares her life with her son and her partner Max, a German cabinetmaker who enjoys creating frames for her artwork.
Her work reflects a commitment to wildlife conservation, sustainable living and community wellbeing. She regularly donates artwork to the Origins Centre in Balingup, with all proceeds supporting the centre’s landcare, community and mindfulness work. As her business grows, Sasha hopes to support more wildlife and conservation organisations.
She is passionate about bringing the shared love our Southern Forests into people’s homes. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, gardening, reading and playing her guitar.
