Flowering Gum Print

Acrylic on Paper, 2024

Inspired by still moments listening to the wind move through the trees.  A flowering gum as its pods start to burst open with iridescent pink, beaming its yellow centre out to attract bees. At their peak in February to March in the southwest, the blooming of all kinds of native gums marks the final bang of summer heat, the warmth left on the wind carrying its delicate floral notes, hinting at cool autumn evenings to come.
