Juvenile male and female Redtail cockatoo feathers display a unique banded effect on their feathers. As the juvenile Males age their feathers turn to a solid red. Unique to Australia, the Red-tailed Black Cockatoo are home to the Southern Forests of Western Australia. This feather was painted by hand in my home studio in Margaret River and then photographed and reproduced locally in Vasse.
