Dreaming in Red Print

The feathers of the iconic Redtail Cockatoo, native to the southwest of Western Australia. A cockatoo is most likely to drop its feather during roosting season in the warmer months. The female feathers can be identified by the repetitive unique bands (to the right), and the male feathers a solid red (to the left). Here you can see how unique each feather is, like fingerprints. Each of these was found on a hike in Balingup, through canopies of cockatoo families roosting. Painted as still life from each feather with watercolour onto paper.

These measurements refer to the artwork itself. Each print includes an additional 5 mm white border on all sides for framing, making the total paper size 158 × 220 mm, 220 × 307 mm and 307 × 430 mm respectively. 

Framed images are shown for display purposes only. Each print is sold unframed and arrives individually signed, titled, and carefully packaged with a backing board and protective sleeve.
